There's several different types of Enemies in Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap, and not all are effected by Barricades.
In general, War Mages can use Barricades to direct the majority of Enemies where they want them to go. The exceptions are the following: Flying Enemies, and Hunter Enemies.
How can I identify a Flying Enemy?
Flying Enemies are shown on your minimap as small triangles. ▲ The triangle color will change depending on what kind of Flying Enemy it is.
Outside the Minimap, you can easily spot Flying Enemies by the wings keeping them up in the air, or the fact that they're hovering. Careful with those!
How can I identify a Hunter Enemy?
Hunter Enemies can be identified on the Minimap by their purple color, and these Enemies will try to run straight for the War Mages, not for the Rift. Keep an eye out!
Do Barricades block Launched Enemies?
If an Enemy is Launched in some way, like a Flip Trap tossing them a long distance, or maybe Kalos' Hammer threw them a bit - the Enemy will only be stopped if they directly impact the Barricade. The Barricades will not block Enemies from being thrown over them, so keep that in mind if you're planning to use Flip Traps that might aim towards the Rift! Having a Barricade next to it won't block the Enemies from being Launched over.
