There are many Maps in Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap, and there are some variants of these Maps as well. You'll easily be able to see what kind of Map you're loading into by reading the type before selecting it, and also seeing the colorful banner at the top of the Map. Yellow is for Daytime, Night is Purple with little stars, and Raining is Blue with raindrops.
Day Maps:
These are the Default Maps that are bright, sunny, and generally don't cause any additional problems.
Night Maps:
The spooky times!
With Night Maps come Skeletons. You may even hear your War Mage comment on it when you first load into a Night Map. These Skeletons will spawn randomly around the Map throughout the Mission, so watch out! There will always be a Ping on your Minimap along with a noise to alert you that Skeletons are spawning somewhere.
Keep your eyes peeled! They might even pop up behind your Barricades!
Raining Maps:
These are my personal favorite, and not just because I love listening to the rain and watching the lightning flash through the sky.
On Raining Maps you can expect Water Elementals! These Elementals spawn randomly around the Map as large watery orbs at first, but if you don't take care of them quickly then the Water Elementals will show up, and start making their way towards the Rift.
You'll see a Ping on your Minimap and hear a noise to alert you of the Water Elementals when the orbs spawn.
Similar to what was mentioned above, watch out! They could spawn in areas you might not have expected.
